A record strong ridge of high pressure for this time of year will remain over the Southwestern US over the next couple of days, helping to push lower desert highs around or just above 105 degrees through the end of the week. Daily records will likely be broken by nearly 10 degrees through the weekend. Extreme Heat Warnings are in effect through Sunday for portions of the region.
